Visitors in Orange County
You can have up to three visits per week in the Orange County Jail - visits take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You may only have one visit per day, but multiple people can come to each visit (up to 3 to each visit). Make sure to coordinate your visits - you don't want your mom coming first thing during the Saturday visiting hours then have your girlfriend come later in the day because they won't let you see her.
When visitors come they will spend 2.5 to 3 hours waiting for you - they will have to show their ID and register with the jail. When you finally get to see each other they will have between ten minutes and thirty minutes depending on how long the guards let you talk. After ten minutes they can send people away so make sure to stay on their good side.
The visit itself happens behind a glass window. You will talk through a telephone, but inmates report that it actually sounds pretty good (sometimes those telephones are hard to hear through). When you are going off to jail make sure to give your mom, girlfriend and anybody else a nice long hug - you will not have any contact visits while you are in jail (unless you are sentenced to the farm where they reportedly allow contact visits).
